THE Saru Dragons have maintained their preparation approach as they gear up for a fierce Vodafone Cup Nationals semi-final against rugby league powerhouse Nadera Panthers at Buckhurst Ground 1 in Suva today.
Team patron Leone Bulinalulu said the Dragons had remained committed to their established training routine.
“The boys only worked on a few areas that they lacked in the quarterfinal. Other than that, their routine of preparation is the same,” Bulinalulu said.
The Dragons secured a thrilling quarterfinal victory 17-14 over Vusu Raiders last Saturday and will enter today’s clash with confidence.
Bulinalulu confirmed that the team would make up to a few changes to its line-up following injuries sustained in the quarter final.
With Nadera Panthers standing between Saru Dragons and a place in the national final, Bulinalulu acknowledged the challenge posed by the experienced powerhouse.
“The boys are ready for their assignment against a strong powerhouse in Nadera Panthers,” he said.
“The boys have always been reminded that their discipline is the key factor of success on the field, and the coaching staff have ensured that the boys are grounded well,” Bulinalulu said.
“We do not underestimate the Nadera Panthers because we know that they have been winning the Vodafone Cup title for years,” he said and urged supporters to be there.
“We will treat this match as the final.”
The Dragons face Nadera Panthers at 3.10pm.
