THE vegetable farming community of Kavanagasau in Sigatoka will no longer have to resort to boreholes and river water after a generous gift from Pleass Global Ltd (PGL) through its natural artesian water VaiWai.

The community, which has a long history of water issues, was given a new water supply system by the company in partnership with Rotary Pacific Water for Life Foundation which offers solutions to water problems across Fiji.

PGL managing director Warwick Pleass said these types of projects were the pride of Pleass Global.

“We are excited to be part of supporting the wonderful work done by Rotary Pacific Water in providing clean water solutions and sanitation to communities who lack these vital services.

“Pleass Global will pursue enhancement of the lives of Fijians in a real and powerful manner through this sponsorship.”

The company installed a similar system at Dubalevu settlement in Sigatoka.

Kavanagasau and Dubalevu settlements are both vegetable farming settlements close to the Sigatoka River which previously had no functioning water system.

These communities have relied on rainwater, carted water and irrigation water from the Sigatoka River
