The Suva Magistrate’s Court has granted FICAC’s application to amend the charges against former Deputy Prime Minister Professor Biman Prasad.
Magistrate Yogesh Prasad granted the application, stating that it was in the interest of justice.
Professor Prasad will return to court at 2.30pm to take his plea on the amended charges.
Professor Prasad faces two charges relating to alleged failures to comply with statutory disclosure requirements in 2015, including the alleged omission of a directorship in a statutory declaration and providing false information.
Magistrate Prasad has vacated the initial four-day trial scheduled to begin this week and will refix the trial dates when the matter is recalled.
