HILTON Fiji Beach Resort & Spa is marking 20 years of operations in Fiji as the global hotel group continues to expand its presence in the country.
The Denarau resort, which opened in 2006, will mark the anniversary throughout September with special events and food and beverage offerings.
The celebrations coincide with a visit to Fiji this week by Hilton’s Asia Pacific president and executive vice-president Alan Watts.
Mr Watts oversees more than 2300 hotels in operation and development across 14 brands in 14 countries in the Asia Pacific region.
His visit includes Hilton properties in Nadi and Suva, including Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa, DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Fiji – Sonaisali Island and the upcoming DoubleTree by Hilton Suva.
He is expected to meet team members, owners, tourism partners and other stakeholders as Hilton looks to further grow its presence in Fiji.
At Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa, the anniversary will also be marked through a sustainability initiative, with 20 trees to be planted to represent the resort’s next 20 years.
A commemorative plaque and time capsule will also be installed as part of the initiative.
The anniversary program will conclude with an event bringing together Government representatives, Hilton owners, tourism partners, team members and other stakeholders.
The event will also recognise team members who have completed 20 years of service with the resort.
Cluster general manager Fiji Islands Carey Osborne said the anniversary was an opportunity to recognise the people behind the resort’s two-decade operation.
“Reaching 20 years is a remarkable milestone for Hilton Fiji Beach Resort and Spa, and one that belongs to our people,” Ms Osborne said.
“Our journey has been shaped by the incredible team members who have welcomed guests, created memorable experiences, and shared the warmth of Fijian hospitality every day.”
He said the resort would look to the next 20 years with a focus on its people, sustainability and guest experience.
The anniversary celebrations began on September 1 and will continue throughout the month.
Hilton’s Fiji portfolio includes Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa and DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Fiji – Sonaisali Island, with DoubleTree by Hilton Suva among its upcoming developments.
