Police have carried out what is believed to be one of Fiji’s biggest drug busts after a surprise raid in Nadi over the weekend.
Acting Police Commissioner Juki Fong Chew yesterday confirmed the raid had taken place and substantial amounts of white drugs were seized.
“This was through a tip-off from Nausori that allowed our officers to conduct a raid at this warehouse in the West,” he said.
“I cannot confirm the weight, but this seizure is a huge amount, probably one of the biggest in Fiji.
“The case is still being investigated as we try and ascertain who is connected to this.”
When contacted yesterday, ACP Crime Mesake Waqa said they were yet to confirm which white drug was seized.
Police stated more details would be released following the completion of forensic tests. |
