Former Flying Fijian fly half Alivereti Veitokani is expected to join the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua side soon.

The experienced fly half, who has plied his trade for Nadroga, Namosi, the Fiji 7s team and London Irish in the English Gallagher Premiership, was part of the wider Drua squad but was ruled out due to injury.

The Drua had initially announced last year that it would work closely with the Fiji Rugby Union to organise rehabilitation for Veitokani, with plans to have him join the squad for the 2023 Super Rugby Pacific campaign.

Drua head coach Mick Byrne said preparations were ongoing with the logistics around his arrival and was adamantly waiting on further updates that would be provided in coming days.

His inclusion into the Drua is much needed given the roster of young backline players within the team.

Veitokani is expected to work closely together with Teti Tela in marshalling these young men to greater heights.
