VALUE City recently donated 52 cartons of books to South Sea Cruises Group’s charitable arm, Vinaka Fiji, in a corporate partnership aimed at improving access to educational resources in the Yasawa Islands.
The books, intended for primary and secondary school students, will be distributed to schools across the island group to support learning and strengthen school libraries. Vinaka Fiji co-ordinator Samisoni Ulitu said the donation would help promote reading and literacy among children in Yasawa communities.
“This is a very meaningful donation for the children of Yasawa. These books will provide students with additional learning resources and help promote reading, knowledge and literacy within our schools,” he said.
South Sea Cruises Group (SSCG) and Vinaka Fiji acknowledged Value City’s contribution, highlighting the role of private-sector support in delivering community initiatives. Vinaka Fiji said it hoped the donation would lay the foundation for a long-term partnership with Value City, opening opportunities for further collaboration in education and community development. The initiative forms part of Vinaka Fiji’s ongoing commitment to improving learning opportunities for children and young people in the Yasawa Islands.
The partnership illustrates how corporate contributions can help address resource gaps in remote communities while supporting broader education and development goals.
