THE Fiji Water Flying Fijians have called in centre Virimi Vakatawa and prop Luke Tagi into the squad following injuries to Semi Radradra and Tim Hoyt in their opening campaign of the Nations Championship.

Radradra and Hoyt sustained injuries during Fiji’s first test match against Wales last Sunday, ruling both out of the remainder of the international campaign.

The pair will now join the national squad as Fiji prepares for its remaining fixtures, providing valuable experience and depth at a crucial stage of the tour.

Vakatawa’s inclusion adds quality and experience to the flying Fijians midfield. The centre returns to the national setup with a wealth of international experience and high expectations from the nation to strengthen Fiji’s attacking options and defensive organisation in the backline.

Tagi, a seasoned front-row prop, will reinforce the forward pack, adding strength at scrum time and valuable depth as the coaching staff reshapes the squad following the injury setbacks.

The injuries to Radradra and Hoyt are a significant blow for Fiji. However, the arrival of Vakatawa and Tagi ensures the Flying Fijians have experienced replacements as they continue preparations for remaining test matches.

The squad now shifts its focus to the next challenge, with both players expected to integrate quickly into the team as Fiji looks to improve from last performance when they face England in Liverpool on Sunday at 1.10am.
