US, Philippines reach deal on temporary relocation of some Afghan refugees

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The United States and the Philippines have reached a deal to allow “a limited number” of Afghans to transit through the Philippines to complete processing for special immigrants visas and resettlement to the U.S., the State Department said on Monday.
