FORMER Nadroga flyer Jerry Tuilevu will spearhead an unknown Sigatoka Safari 7s team in this year’s Bayleys Coral Coast 7s.
The former Toulon rugby rep will team-up with village boys from the hills of Navosa who are using this tournament to pursue their rugby dreams.
Team official David Dakuitoga said it would be a baptism of fire for these village boys during the tournament.
He said the tournament would be an eye-opener for the players since they would be rubbing shoulders with some of the best local and international 7s players.
“Apart from Tuilevu these boys will be playing in this high competitive game for the first time,” said Dakuitoga.
“These boys who reside in Keiyasi, Draiba and Korolevu have big rugby dreams and they are using the tournament to be recognised.
“This is a golden opportunity for these players and we are hopeful they will make a good use of this tournament.”
The side has been drawn in a tough pool alongside hot favourites Daveta and Ratu Filise.
Dakuitoga said the players had trained well for the event and would give these top teams a run for their money.
“We are hoping to get at least one win but this doesn’t stop us out from giving our best shot.”
“We have Daveta and Ratu Filise in our path and the boys are looking forward to the games.”
The side will face Ratu Filise in their first game at 9.40am.
