VODAFONE Fijiana XV produced a remarkable late comeback to beat Spain 38-32 in the WXV Global Series Challenger at Kai Tak Youth Sports Ground on Sunday afternoon.
Trailing 32-26 with five minutes remaining, Fiji scored two late tries to turn the match around and claim a memorable victory.
Fiji made a strong start, with Atelini Buna breaking through the Spanish defence to score under the posts. Varanisese Qoro added the conversion to give Fiji an early lead.
Spain responded with a penalty, but Fiji extended their advantage when Josivini Naihamu finished in the corner after a quick tap.
Spain then began to control possession and put Fiji under pressure.
Argudo added another penalty before Spain crossed over for the first try.
Fiji answered before halftime when number eight Alfreda Fisher powered over after a quick lineout. Spain responded through another converted try.

With five minutes remaining, Fiji trailed 26-32 and appeared to be facing defeat.
Fiji will now shift their focus to their next outing against Hong Kong China this Saturday, 7.05pm at Kai Tak Youth Sports Ground.
