REWA senior player Setareki Hughes thanked his teammates and fans for their commitment and support despite their 2-1 defeat to Dayals Steels Ba FC in the Extra Battle of the Giants final at 4R Stadium, Govind Park, Ba, on Sunday.
Hughes praised the Rewa players for their hard work throughout the tournament and congratulated Ba FC on securing the title.
“I thank my Rewa boys for their commitment and hardwork that we were able to score one goal, thank you boys for the hardwork.
“To the fans, thank you for believing in us, congratulations to Ba FC.”
Ba goalkeeper Misiwani Nairube was proud of his cousin, Isikeli Seva Junior, who was instrumental in Ba’s successful campaign and was awarded the Golden Glove.
“I’m proud of my cousin, he really did well, I’m excited and proud of his game,” Nairube said.
Vanuatu import John Alick, who has been with Ba FC throughout the season, was delighted to celebrate another major title with the club.
“I’m really very proud.
“Ba FC have been treating me well, I’m proud to be part of the team, we have won our third title this season,” Alick said.
The victory completed a remarkable season for Ba, which has now won the Fiji FACT, Extra Premier League and Extra Battle of the Giants titles.
Teams will now prepare for the FMF Inter District Championship in Suva in October.
