A GRIPPING showdown is on the cards as Ba Methodist High School prepares to face Sigatoka Methodist College in the Vodafone Fiji Secondary Schools Under-17 rugby league final at the 4R Stadium, Govind Park in Ba this Saturday.
Both teams earned their place in the decider through hard-fought semi-final victories.
Ba Methodist edged Ratu Kadavulevu School 16-12 in a tense encounter, while Sigatoka Methodist College held off Ba Provincial 14-10 to set up what promises to be a thrilling finale.
Despite enjoying home-ground advantage, Ba Methodist is not taking anything lightly.
The Saints are aware of the threat posed by the Sigatoka Methodist Knights, a side known for its skilled and volatile players capable of turning the game at any moment.
Head coach David Wise said preparation has centred on discipline, teamwork and executing their game plan under pressure. He acknowledged the strength of their opponents, adding that the better team on the day would come out on top.
With Ba Town expected to rally behind the Saints, a passionate crowd is anticipated. However, Sigatoka Methodist will be equally determined to silence the home supporters and claim the title, setting the stage for an exciting and closely contested final.
