The NFP leader is promising people that he will reopen the Penang sugar mill in Rakiraki if his party forms the next government.
With all due respect to Prof Prasad may I ask him, if NFP ever has won an election on its own.
Looking back, I believe that NFP has once won an election, but could not form the government because of internal bickering.
Before the first coup I believe NFP with Labour coalition won the election and formed the government.
On its own NFP had never won any election to form a government.
For an educated person like Prof Prasad who I have lots of respect for, to make such comments of repairing the sugar mill if his party forms the government is uncalled for. For some Rakiraki farmers and the labourers it’s a bread and butter issue.
Please do what you can and don’t promise the people something that you know will never happen.
