VODAFONE Fijiana captain Kolora Lomani has hailed the simple but profound approach by the new head coach Willie Walker.

Lomani said it was quite an adjustment for the girls at first but since taking the reign Walkers is slowly making notable progress with the side.

“For us having coach Willie we have adapted slowly to what he has provided for the team, and one thing we have learned from him is just doing the simple things right in terms of details in attack and defence,” she explained.

Since taking the job back in August the New Zealander has achieved an impressive four match wining steak which culminated in the side wining the WXV Global Series Challengers title.

Since losing his fist two test against South Africa Walker emphasis on execution before flair has really transformed the side to becoming one of the best attacking and resilient teams in women’s international rugby.

Lomani believes the team is heading in the right direction under Walkers mentorship.

“We have been really appreciative of him in terms of stripping back of what we have had in the team so like he said we have a long-term goal towards the world cup and this campaign has been really good to us as a team to identify where we need to improve on,” Lomani said.
