For Sandeep Narayn Singh, his first café ‘Tuttie Fruity’ is all about giving back to his own country.

Mr Singh travelled all the way from Singapore to start a café in Fiji which promoted healthy living. Located at MHCC ground floor, the café was inaugurated on Saturday.

The 44-year-old said one of the specialties of the café was that they used fresh fruits to make smoothies.

“Tuttie Fruity is more popular on selling smoothies so we do fresh fruit smoothies like no artificial so that’s the specialty of it,” he said.

“Apart from that, we are actually launching a subway where you can choose the vegetables you want, the meat you want.

“And again, we will be promoting the Fijian grown products whether its dalo, we gonna have dalo smoothie, we’ll be turning it into value-added product for Fiji.”

He said he would be opening his second branch at Vodafone Triangle in Suva in the coming week and in his hometown — Lautoka in future.

He said they had spent a total of $300,000 for the both branches so far. Speaking at the opening, Minister for Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport Faiyaz Koya said the café was a “wonderful business opportunity”.

“And I think it’s great because it’s a healthy lifestyle, its actually creating employment as you all know Government is been engaging with all our MSMEs and trying to grow the sector with respect to post-COVID,” he said.

“It’s a positive sign that people are actually investing back into the country post-COVID.”
