The motor vehicle accident that occurred along the Queens Road near Naboro yesterday afternoon claimed a man’s life.
Police confirmed this morning that the man in his 50s was driving near Wainisalato, Naboro, when allegedly lost control of his vehicle causing it to veer onto the opposite lane where it hit a six tonne truck.
Police said the man, believed to be the driver of the government vehicle involved, was rushed to the CWM hospital in Suva where he later passed away.
Investigations are continuing.
The national road death toll stands at 22 compared to six for the same period last year.
