A 63-year-old man charged with the rape of his four-year-old granddaughter was remanded in custody by the High Court on Friday.
The accused appeared before Justice Daniel Goundar on January 16, after previously being out on bail from the Suva Magistrate’s Court.
He informed the court that he would be seeking assistance from the Legal Aid Commission.
Justice Goundar ordered that the accused be remanded in custody. The matter was adjourned to February 27 for mention.
