State lawyers will be filing a nolle prosequi for Travis Cheer and Sunia Vakaloloma who were initially charged in the Vatia drug case.

Appearing before Justice Samuela Qica, state prosecutor Joeli Naivalu informed the court that the State would be filing the application for the men.

They were initially charged in relation to the seizure of 2.6 tonnes of cocaine in Vatia, Tavua, in January this year.

The duo were among five people granted immunity by the State.

In Court, Mr Naivalu said they would be dropping the charges against the two men.

He said immunity statements from the duo would be submitted once all witnesses received and verified the information.

The State was granted 14 days to collect the information.

A formal filing of the application would be done in June.
