ANOTHER big night of football awaits at Govind Park as Bula FC prepare to take on South Melbourne FC in Round Five of the OFC Pro League today at 7pm.
The home side heads into the clash riding high after a memorable 1-0 victory over Hekari United FC on Sunday, a result that marked their first win on home soil in the competition.
Backed by hundreds of passionate fans, Bula FC looked confident from the start, dominating territory and keeping Hekari pinned in their own half for long spells. The win not only lifted spirits, but also strengthened their push inside the top four.
Now, attention turns to a tougher challenge against South Melbourne, with Bula FC eager to build momentum in front of their home crowd once again.
Head coach Stephane Auvray believes his side will show improvement after shaking off rust from the long break.
“The players will be in a better shape, much more energetic,” Auvray said.
“And when you have the ball obviously, we will make changes in the line-up because some players need to rest, some players need to play.
“There was lack of rhythm in the game against Hekari because of the long break but players will be energetic the next game.”
With squad rotation expected and energy levels on the rise, Bula FC will look to deliver another exciting performance and keep their campaign on track.
Earlier in the day, Auckland FC faces Hekari in the opening match at 3pm, setting the stage for what promises to be an entertaining double-header in Ba.
