The Fiji Pine Ba U20s continued need their fine form last week to record their fourth consecutive victory with a 23-11 win over Malolo at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
The result sees the Pena Cokomata coached side climb to second in the points table, just behind leaders Suva.
“Though the results of our senior Skipper Cup team have been disappointing, the Under 20s are getting stronger each week,” BRU Secretary Gaby Kautoga noted.
“We might not be scoring highly, but the boys are controlling the games well and have performed really well in defence.”
Indeed, the Ba U20s have only conceded a total of 75 points in their five games so far, the lowest in the competition.
Next up for the youngsters are the teams in fourth and third, respectively, Nadroga and Nadi.
“The following two weeks will tell us a lot, Talatala Gaby said. “Ba were desperately unlucky to lose their opening match against Suva after the hooter, and there’s probably not much between those four sides.”
