WORLD Archery Fiji received brand new equipment donated by the World Archery Federation in preparation for the upcoming Oceania Continental Championship and the Samoa Pacific Games.

Association president George Fong said the new equipment was going to provide more efficiency for new and intermediate archers.

“We are thankful to World Archery for this equipment, which consists of 12 beginners recurve bows, 12 dozen arrows, archery accessories such as finger tabs and arm guards and maintenance equipment including a fletching jig, serving and bowstring material and a string-making jig,” Fong said.

“The new equipment will benefit our archers as they are high quality bows and arrows which translate into better accuracy and consistency of archers.”

As the association members have grown over the past year, Fong said the new equipment had reduced training downtime because most members had had to share the equipment.

“Having more equipment reduces training downtime and increases accessibility and less time spent by members waiting for others to use shared equipment.”
