Swire Shipping Fijian Drua head coach Mick Byrne says his forwards will have to go all out this weekend if they are to match the physicality of the Moana Pacific side as they go head-to-head at Churchill Park in Lautoka on Saturday.
Byrne said they’re anticipating a physical match, similar to the Hurricanes at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, this time around.
“The challenge for our forwards now is to come out and carry on with the same work ethic from last week.
“We know they will be a very physical pack, especially with their forwards so the boys are working according to this and they cannot wait to run out on Friday,” Byrne said.
“They have a strong pack of forwards, similar to the Hurricanes so we will be expecting strong scrums and mauls from them.”
The two sides met at Lautoka earlier this year where the Moana Pacific defeated the Drua 39-36.
“This is a massively important game for us since we are both in the last two spots in the points table, standing at seventh and eighth place.
“We also want to get a bonus point this weekend when we play them if we want to make it into the finals.”
Another area Byrne said his side will be looking to improve on this weekend is maintaining ball possession.
“However, another main target of ours this weekend is for us to just hang on to the ball and to be a little bit more accurate in our execution and for us to get rid of our unforced errors which were plentiful last week.”
They will face the Moana Pacificka at 2.05pm.
