WEIGHTLIFTING Fiji coach Henry Elder says the onus is on Levuka now as they turn their focus to the 2019 Pacific Games and the Oceania Championship.

“All the talks have been done it is really on them.” Elder said.

“We have done everything that should have been done.”

Elder said the impasse between Weightlifting Fiji and the Levuka lifters who had formed their own association was an unfortunate issue.

“Government was involved as well as we had advice given by our international body on what course should be taken and they gave us their full support.

“We also had talks with the representative from the International Olympic Committee in Fiji and they have all given their advice on what should be done and we have done it.”

Elder said Levuka had also formally written and declined to be part of the current preparations.

“Our energy has to be used up in areas where we know we will get some returns but unfortunately in this point in time they have said no.”
