World Meteorological Day was celebrated at the Fiji Meteorological Service in Nadi last week.

Geoscience, Energy and Maritime (GEM) division director at the Pacific Community (SPC) Dr Andrew Jones said that meteorological services played a critical role in our lives, especially during
natural disasters.

He said this year’s World Meteorological Day theme resonated as it recognised the inherent connection between the ocean, climate and weather within the Earth system
