A TROUGH of low pressure remains slow moving over Fiji.

The weather bulletin issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi at 10:45am today says another trough of low pressure is expected to drift towards the group from the northwest later tonight.

The forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group expect occasional rain, heavy at times with few squally thunderstorms over Lau and Lomaiviti group, the eastern and interior parts of the larger islands.

Rain becoming frequent and heavy from tomorrow.

Elsewhere there will be cloudy periods with some showers with possible thunderstorms especially in the afternoon or evening.

Showers increasing to rain and becoming frequent and heavy from tonight.

Localised heavy rain may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas.

Moderate to fresh east to southeast winds, winds gradually turning northeasterly from later tonight.
