In its weather bulletin issued at 5.30am today, the Fiji Meteorological Service said the heavy rain warning also remained in force for the whole of the Fiji group.

Residents in the low-lying areas of Tavua and Ba have also been warned of flash flooding.

The flash flood alert is now in force for low-lying areas adjacent to small streams and rivers of Vanua Levu and Taveuni, Nadi through Lautoka to Korovou, low-lying areas along Navua, through Naboutini to Namada.

The weatherman has noted an active trough of low pressure that remains slow moving over the Fiji group, and the associated cloud and rain will affect the whole group.
