Waimanu women’s club receive $9k worth of assistance

THE Ministry for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation today handed over more than $9000 worth of assistance to the Waimanu Women’s club.

Ministry permanent secretary Dr Josefa Koroivueta said the ministry was there to show their support in order to assist in women’s development.

“When money is being put in the hands of a woman, it is different compared to when their is money in the hands of a man,” Dr Koroivueta said.

He said women needed to be supported in order for them to develop their skills and knowledge.

“The ministry is requesting those of you here and we hope that one day when the next national women’s expo happens in 2019, we will have representatives from the Waimanu Women’s club present , showcasing their crafts,” he said.
Iva Raicebe who is part of the women’s club acknowledged the ministry’s assistance and said this would indeed help them with their developments.
