Fiji’s Minister for Home Affairs and Immigration Pio Tikoduadua says Filimoni Vosarogo’s appointment as the Attorney-General is under review.
And the Minister said appointment “will be reviewed”.
“The suitability of Filimoni Vosarogo as A-G is under consideration,” Mr Tikoduadua said.
“We will be in dialogue with legal stalwarts including the Fiji Law Society,” he said, and added they would ensure their move forward was well informed and reflected expert opinions.
He said the Government recognised the importance of transparency and accountability in future government appointments.
An announcement will be made on the decision in due course.
RFMF Commander Brigadier-General Ro Jone Kalouniwai had also written to the Minister with concerns surrounding Mr Vosarogo’s appointment as A-G.
