THE Junior Flying Fijians are preparing to embark on one of the biggest challenges in age-grade rugby as they head to Georgia for the 2026 World Rugby Junior World Championship.
Fly-half Isikeli Bari reflected on the team’s time at the U20 International Series in Cape Town, South Africa.
In that outing, he described the campaign as a demanding but valuable experience that provided the squad with crucial learning moments.
“We have to level up with our training and work extra harder.”
With expectations of a very tough competition ahead, the squad will be looking to improve performance and make an impression against the world’s best U20 rugby teams.
The team is working to gel as a unit, with locally based and international players coming together to build combinations and develop an understanding of each other’s strengths by working together and understanding one another.
Despite the challenges and setbacks, they are determined to work harder and be prepared ahead of the championship.
The U20 flying Fijians will kick off their campaign against France on Sunday, 28 June at 2am.
Their second match will be against Australia on Thursday, July 2 at 11.30pm and their last pool match will be against Spain on July 8 at 4.30am.
