Two WAF staff front court for alleged fraud

TWO Water Authority of Fiji staff have been charged with two counts of obtaining a financial advantage after they were alleged to have sold water tanks to residents in Nadi.

Charged by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption, Varayame Drelo and Sairusi Nageti appeared at the Nadi Magistrates Court before Magistrate Peni Dalituicama this afternoon.

The pair were alleged to have sold water tanks issued by WAF under Government’s Rain Water Harvest Tank Project.

The tanks were offered to residents for free under the program.

The case has been adjourned to January 24, 2019, for plea.
