Lion One Metals Limited has reported a 15 per cent increase in gold recovery at its Tuvatu Gold Mine in Fiji, with total gold production reaching a record 4,678 ounces in the September quarter.

In preliminary operating results released on October 20, the Canadian mining company said it recovered 3,796 ounces of gold from mill operations during the three months ended September 30, up from 3,291 ounces in the previous quarter.

A further 882 ounces came from drawing down gold held in inventory and shipments of gold-bearing carbon from the leach circuit.

The company reported an average gold head grade of 4.3 grams per tonne, with recovery at 83.8 per cent.

A total of 32,588 tonnes of ore was milled during the quarter, while the mill recorded 95.1 per cent utilisation.

Underground mine development reached 1,539 metres, compared with 1,660 metres in the previous quarter. However, development remained above the long-term average of 1,445 metres recorded between January 2025 and September 2026.

Lion One said gold recovery had increased for the second consecutive quarter, with production up 39 per cent compared with the quarter ended March 31, 2026.

The company also reported an improvement in its safety performance, recording a total recordable incident frequency rate of 1.83 incidents per 200,000 hours worked.

This was down from 4.37 in the June quarter and 6.55 in the March quarter.

During the September quarter, the company recorded one lost-time incident and two medical-aid incidents.

Lion One said it remained focused on maintaining safe production as operations continued to improve at the Tuvatu Gold Mine.
