Japanese Ambassador to Fiji Hiroshi Tajima, Education Minister Aseri Radrodro and school representatives marked the signing of grant agreements to support Tailevu North College and Ratu Filise Memorial School with new classroom facilities.
Mr Tajima said the initiative reflected the longstanding partnership between Fiji and Japan, with the two schools set to benefit from improved infrastructure to support teaching and learning.
The agreements form part of Japan’s commitment to grassroots development, focusing on community needs and creating better opportunities for future generations.
The new facilities are expected to provide more suitable spaces for students and teachers, while strengthening the schools’ ability to deliver quality education.
Mr Radrodro added that the partnership also highlighted the importance of continued cooperation between governments, school management and communities in building stronger educational foundations for Fiji’s children.
