Labasa lawyer Amrit Sen and two others have denied several charges related to the death of John Rusiate, who was allegedly hit by a vehicle in June last year.

Sen, Shumedha Chandra and Maqtadeer Kaiyum appeared before Justice Pita Bulamainaivalu at the High Court in Labasa.

Mr Sen and Ms Chandra are each charged with one count of murder, seven of attempted murder, two of assault and a count each of criminal intimidation and conspiracy to defeat the course of justice.

The third accused Maqtadeer Kaiyum is charged with eight counts of attempted murder and aiding the other two.

The Department of Public Prosecutions will produce 15 witnesses for the trial.
