“THIS year is our year!” were the words Ba football captain Ilisoni Logaivau stressed to his teammates to be the driving force that led them to lift the 2026 FMF IDC last night after an epic 2-0 win over Navua in the Super Premier Division.
And the message proved compelling in the end as Ba not only won the IDC but achieved a rare four-peat clean sweep of all the major Fiji football tournaments this year; the Fiji FACT, the national Premier League, the Battle of the Giants and the IDC.
“I always told the boys that this year is our year. This year belongs to Ba but we created history and I give back the honour to the Lord,” Logaivau said.
He also reflected on how special this win was for him.
“I would like to take this time to thank the God Almighty for being with us whole of this season, from the beginning,” he mentioned.
“I thank their boys for their hard work and dedication and for what we have achieved today through their hard work.”
He dedicated this win to his wife and daughter, crediting them for standing by his side every step of the way.
Logaivau’s leadership into the ID this year was a monumental feat as he led them to the glorious win in his first season as captain.
He also thanked the Ba supporters who came out in great numbers and covered the blue seats of the HFC Bank Stadium grandstand in a sea of black.
