Tacirua rugby has booked its spot in the Ram Sami Nasinu Rugby Football Union club competition semi-finals after beating a tough Colo-i-Suva side 10-6.

Head coach Timoci Tikoisuva said they had to dig deep for the win.

“It was a really tough game against our counterparts from Colo-i-Suva. They really pushed us to the wire today (yesterday) and I applaud the players for sticking in it for the win,” Tikoisuva said.

He said said they had to do better if they wanted a spot in the final.

“We have a lot to work on in the coming week and we have to improve on it.

“In the first half, we were trapped in our own territory for about 30 minutes. We dodged a bullet there by not allowing Colo-i-Suva to penetrate through our defence.

“It will be an important facet of the game for us to work on and I believe the players will learn from it.”

In other quarter-final results:

Flick Vatuwaqa demolished FNU 31-10, Police 28-18 Portsmouth Kelland Brothers, West Coast Drifters 30-24 Tovata.
