Sydney 7s: Fiji downs Samoa to face hosts in first cup quarters

THE Fiji Airways Fiji 7s team defeated Samoa 22-12 in its last pool match of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series in Sydney, Australia, tonight.

Coach Gareth Baber made a complete change in his line-up and rested skipper Kalione Nasoko, Jerry Tuwai and Vilimoni Botitu.

Fiji’s points came from Teri Tamani, Alasio Naduva, and Botitu and Nasoko who both came in in the second half.

Tomasi Alosio and Joe Perez scored for Samoa and Alatasi Tupou made a conversion.

Fiji will face hosts and defending champion Australia in the first cup quarter-final.
