SUVA once again stamped its authority on the Crest Netball Fiji Championship, claiming both the Open women’s and men’s major titles at the Lautoka Multi-Purpose Court on Saturday.
The Suva Warriors defeated fellow Suva side Suva Knights 17-14 in the Open men’s major final, while Suva secured the Open women’s title with a hard-fought 21-19 victory over Nadi.
The women’s final was a closely contested battle, with both teams showing determination and intensity throughout the match.
Suva’s experience proved valuable, with former Fiji Pearls players providing leadership in the crucial stages.
Captain Aliti Toribau guided her team through a challenging final as Suva held off a determined Nadi outfit.
Toribau said the team’s preparation, determination and unity played an important role in their success.
“It was a good preparation for us, team managed to put up a good fight.
The victory capped a successful campaign for Suva, which continued its strong showing across the major divisions of the two-day championship.
