Suspect in foreign exchange robbery to appear in court

A MAN alleged to be involved in the aggravated robbery at a foreign exchange outlet in Laucala Bay will be produced at the Suva Magistrates Court this afternoon.

It is alleged the 26-year-old man robbed the employee of $50,000 last Thursday morning.

Police said that more than $11,000 in the local Fijian currency and more than $3000 in foreign currency believed to have been stolen during the robbery had been recovered by the investigation team.

The man has been charged with one count of aggravated robbery.

Meanwhile, a second suspect has also been taken into custody as investigations continue.
