The Army side secured the FMF Ratu Sukuna Bowl netball title after a lapse of four years, defeating Police 57-45 at the National Netball Centre in Laucala Bay, Suva yesterday.
Army led from the start and did not let Police get back into the game.
Army led 27-20 at half-time. Team captain Wasela Bogi said it was a great win for her side.
“We know how much we wanted this and I am just thankful to my girls for getting the win,” Bogi said.
“The glory and honour goes back to the lord without whom we would not have been victorious.
“We thank all those who assisted us in preparations, making sure we fielded the best team possible.”
It was a lead from the start which saw Army clinch the title.
The scorching Suva heat did not deter the Army players as they kept composure for a comfortable win in the end.
