Strong wind warning for mariners

MARINERS are being advised of a strong wind warning in force the Yasawa and Mamanuca waters, Southwest Viti Levu waters, Northern Lau waters, Northern, Vanua Levu waters, Vatu-I-Ra and Kadavu passages.

The marine weather bulletin issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi at 11am this morning says a high pressure system to the far southwest of Fiji directs a moderate to strong southerly wind flow over the group.

The forecast to midday tomorrow for Fiji waters that is the Yasawa and Mamanuca waters, Southwest Viti Levu saters, Northern
Lau waters, Northern Vanua Levu waters, Vatu-i-Ra and Kadavu Passages expect southerly winds 20 to 25 knots.

There will also be rough seas and moderate southerly swells.
