The State has filed information and disclosures in the case involving three men who allegedly assaulted a bus driver resulting in his death.

The matter was called on Friday before High Court judge Justice Aruna Althuge in Suva.

Mikaele Lawaniyale, Isikeli Lagibalavu and Josateki Rokodakunivosa were initially charged with one count of murder, however, in court the State filed information with reduced charges of one count each of manslaughter.

The defence for all three men informed the court that they needed time to take instructions on plea.

The men were granted bail on strict conditions. It is alleged the men assaulted the bus driver who later died because of the injuries he sustained during the alleged incident.

The alleged incident took place on October 3 at the Nausori bus stand.

The matter has been adjourned to November 30, 2020 for plea.
