PRIME Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has urged Fijians to make submissions related to the Constitution Amendment Bill.

After receiving submissions unrelated to the proposed Bill in Ba and Tavua earlier this week, Mr Rabuka reiterated the call for Fijians to participate in the consultation process.

Speaking in iTaukei, he said issues such as gravel extraction, drainage and infrastructure improvement were not related to the consultation the Parliamentary Committee was undertaking.

He said while he acknowledged the participation of village representatives, there were avenues for such issues to be raised.

He said offices such as district or provincial offices and divisional government offices were the places to raise these issues. He said some of the submissions being made before the committee were not in line with the committee’s objectives. He reminded those present at the Tavua consultations that issues that come under relevant ministries should be taken to them and would be addressed through the normal processes.
