GOVERNMENT deceived people through freebies as a tactic to brainwash them in the buildup to the 2018 General Election, Opposition MP Salote Radrodro told Parliament yesterday.
“So wake up from your slumber Fiji and don’t be a fool to think that you can live at the expense of the State through freebies and never forget that the State wants to live at the expense of everyone,” Mrs Radrodro said.
“This Government has become numb to the needs of the people of Fiji. They have become deaf to the cries of our people.
“Moreover, this FijiFirst Government continues with the blame game, blaming previous governments, previous leaderships, blames everyone and everything else except themselves.
“In the buildup to the 2018 general elections, the FijiFirst Government bought votes through the national budget and acted big by deceiving the people through freebies galore.”
