Nadroga FC knows they face an uphill battle this weekend when they face Rewa in round six of the Digicel Fiji Premier League but will be banking on the eagerness and passion of their young side to give the tournament favourites a fight for their money.

“We know it will be an extremely tough match, but our boys love the sport and are excited to compete so we will see how it goes,” Nadroga head coach Varoon Karan said.

He added that playing in Rewa’s home ground will make their match on Sunday even tougher, but fans should not count out Nadroga who are determined to go all out this weekend. Nadroga is third on the standing after recording two wins, two draws and a loss.

“Rewa is a very experienced side, so we know what to expect when we play them on Saturday.

“Playing in their home turf will not make it easier but the boys are determined to show them what they are made of.”

Nadroga has been working on their finishing throughout the week since their last match against Ba last weekend – a 1-0 win at home. ”

The boys have been training hard since our last game, and our area of focus has been our finishing.

“We have a very young squad going out against an experienced Rewa side, but we are excited and looking forward to Sunday.”

Breaking Rewa’s defence is the toughest battle Karan expects for Sunday, labelling it as one of their opponent’s strengths they will need to be on the look for.

“Their defence is one of our concerns because it’s their biggest strength, so we will need to figure out and see how we can get around it.”

The match kicks off at 1pm.
