KHELVIN Civil Engineering has stepped in as the major sponsor of the Lautoka Rugby Union, providing a timely boost as the 2026 domestic rugby season gathers momentum.
Speaking after the sponsorship signing, Lautoka Rugby Union president Inoke Momoedonu said the partnership marked a significant milestone for the union, which had been without a major sponsor.
Momoedonu thanked Khelvin Civil Engineering for placing its trust in the Maroons and pledged that the sponsorship funds would be managed responsibly and transparently.
“The 2026 rugby calendar has already commenced, and this support comes at the right time,” he said.
He added that the sponsorship would strengthen the union’s operations while helping to nurture and develop rugby talent across Lautoka.
“As volunteers running the union, this type of sponsorship is greatly needed. We are committed to ensuring the funds are utilised in a transparent financial manner, and we look forward to building a strong relationship with Khelvin Civil Engineering.”
Under the new partnership, the rugby side will officially compete as Khelvin Civil Engineering Lautoka Maroons Rugby, reflecting the company’s commitment to the growth of rugby in the Sugar City.
The sponsorship comes at a crucial stage of the season, with Khelvin Cviil Engineering Lautoka hosting traditional rivals McDonalds Nadi today in Round Two of the Skipper Cup and the Subrails Marama Cup competition at ground three in Churchill Park.
The clash is expected to attract a strong home crowd as the Maroons look to build momentum in front of their supporters.
