SOCIAL Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) provisional candidate Nemani Bulitavu believes that he is in a better position to relate to grassroots people if he gets elected into Parliament.

He said his 37 years of experience as a civil servant would boost his move into politics.

The 61-year-old candidate said he was inspired to join politics after he observed the day to day challenges people who live in villages faced.

Mr Bulitavu claimed that as a landowner, he had seen that the money they received as returns from Government was not enough to shoulder the cost of living.

He said he was passionate about ensuring the protection of indigenous rights and natural resources.

Mr Bulitavu said there was a need to work on reviewing the laws pertaining to the protection of resources and that people must be well compensated when they assist Government through the usage of their resources.

He said this could be done through the development of policies that would help to ensure equal wealth distribution between the rich and the poor.

Mr Bulitavu said for the past weeks he had visited various villages in Macuata.

He said it was imperative for people to be made aware that their vote in the upcoming general election matter as it would determine change.

SODELPA has so far announced 42 of its candidates.
