Skipper Cup: Namosi edge Tailevu to register first win

Namosi lock forward Eparama Luvata scored the lone try of the second half to secure a 19-13 first round win over Tailevu today.

Namosi’s 12-10 lead at the break was short-lived as Tailevu fullback Maika Baleinaloto nailed a penalty to gain a one point lead.

Luvata scored on the 65th minute mark with reserve Flyhalf Netava Koroisau converting to secure the win.

Tailevu attacked the Namosi line in the dying minutes but were outdone by the staunch Namosi defence.

Namosi also won the development grade match by 26-20 and the Under-19 grade by 5-3.
