The Housing Authority board has appointed former ANZ Bank senior executive Ritesh Singh as its new chief executive officer.
According to the Housing Authority, it had searched for three months for a suitable candidate for the position.
Board chairperson Viliame Vodonaivalu welcomed Mr Singh’s appointment describing it a win for the authority’s customers and the stock of affordable housing in the country.
“Mr Singh was brought up in the Nasinu Housing Authority development, so he knows personally that the authority’s customers, and most important priority, are Fijian families,” Mr Vodonaivalu said in a statement.
“Through the course of his life, he’s acquired decades of private sector expertise that took him to the helm of one of the largest banks in the region, ANZ. Now, he’s come full circle to the authority, bringing a potent mix of financial management, customer-first leadership, and digital knowhow to deliver affordable housing that helps Fijian families, particularly young families, own or rent quality homes.”
Mr Singh holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree with majors in Accounting and Financial Management from the University of the South Pacific.
He is an affiliate of several international institutions and had also spent the last three decades at ANZ Bank holding several senior positions, with his most recent position being the managing director of ANZ Pacific Operations Ltd and Chief Operations Officer of ANZ Pacific.
Mr Vodonaivalu says Mr Singh also wields extensive experience in operations, innovation and digital transformation, and leadership management.
He officially takes up office on March 7.
