Suva residents who never thought they ever would get to experience a helicopter ride, had an opportunity to do so over the weekend. Many got a bird’s-eye view of the Capital City when Heli-Tours Fiji held scenic flights yesterday.

Joyce Aviation Group (Fiji) Pte Ltd CEO and managing director Tim Joyce said he had gotten many requests from people in Suva on their social media platform and decided to do something about it.

“Over the last few months everything’s been very depressing, we had virtually no work at all except for a limited bit of flying with the flying school,” he said.

“It was an opportunity, we had a lot of people in Suva saying can they do scenic flights around Suva but the cost of bringing a helicopter over for a few short flights is not viable.

“So we decided to make a weekend of it, bring the aircraft over, offer people short scenic flights over Suva that they wouldn’t be able to afford otherwise and also give them a little bit of exposure.”
